안소현 작가는 일상에서 마주하는 평범한 풍경과 자연의 모습들을 자신만의 따스한 시선으로 바라보고 녹여내는 회화 작업을 해오고 있다. 그녀는 직접 카메라에 담은 순간적인 풍경, 혹은 구글 스트리트 뷰를 통해 발견한 세계 곳곳의 일상적 장소를 자신의 화폭에 옮겨 담는다. 그녀의 작품은 표면적으로는 사실적 묘사를 기반으로 하지만, 부드러운 파스텔 톤의 색채와 실제 존재하지 않는 사물이나 동식물의 등장을 통해 작가 내면의 감정과 환상이 느껴진다. 이러한 특징으로 인해 안소현 작가의 작품들은 현실과 비현실 사이의 경계에 존재하는 듯한 몽환적인 분위기를 자아낸다.

안소현(b.1984)은 2000년 예원학교, 2003년 서울예술고등학교를 졸업하고 2010년 한국예술종합학교 영상원 멀티미디어 영상과를 중퇴했다. 그녀는 어릴 적부터 화가의 꿈을 키워왔지만 현실적인 이유로 그림 그리기를 반대한 부모님으로 인해 20대에는 붓을 내려놓고 부모님과의 갈등을 겪었다. 이후 남편의 지지로 고민 끝에 10년 만에 붓을 다시 잡고 화가의 길을 걷기 시작했다. 본격적인 작가 활동을 시작하면서 2017년 인사아트프라자 갤러리의 New Artist Contest 우수상을 수상하고 곧이어 2019년 GIAF 광화문 국제아트페스티벌 서울특별시의회의장상 대상을 수상했다. 또한 표갤러리를 비롯하여 한가람미술관, 호반아트리움, 이랜드스페이스, 인사아트프라자갤러리, 도잉아트, 프린트베이커리 등에서 20여 회의 개인전을 개최하고 동대문디자인플라자, 세종문화회관 미술관, 뉴욕 Art Mora Gallery 등에서 40여 회의 단체전에 참가하며 활발한 활동을 이어오고 있다. 주요 소장처는 국립현대미술관 미술은행, 호반문화재단, GS EPS(서울 강남 GS타원), 삼성서울병원, SBS 문화사업팀 등이 있다.


An Sohyeon is a painter who observes and translates the ordinary landscapes and natural scenes of everyday life through her own warm and distinctive gaze. She transposes onto her canvas fleeting moments captured through her own camera, as well as everyday places discovered around the world via Google Street View. While her works are grounded in realistic depiction on the surface, the soft pastel palette and the appearance of objects, flora, and fauna that do not exist in reality convey the artist's inner emotions and imagination. These qualities give Ahn Sohyeon's works a dreamy, otherworldly atmosphere that seems to hover on the boundary between the real and the unreal.

An Sohyeon(b. 1984) graduated from Yewon School of Arts in 2000 and Seoul Arts High School in 2003, and later withdrew from the Multimedia and Film department of the School of Film, TV & Multimedia at the Korea National University of Arts in 2010. Having nurtured a dream of becoming a painter from an early age, she set down her brush in her twenties due to her parents' opposition to an artistic career for practical reasons, a source of prolonged conflict. It was ultimately with the support of her husband that she resolved, after much deliberation, to pick up the brush again after ten years and begin her journey as a painter.
Since launching her career in earnest, she received the Excellence Award at the New Artist Contest hosted by Insa Art Plaza Gallery in 2017, followed by the Grand Prize (Seoul Metropolitan Council Speaker's Award) at the 2019 GIAF Gwanghwamun International Art Festival. She has held over 20 solo exhibitions at venues including PYO Gallery, Hangaram Art Museum, Hoban Atrium, E-Land Space, Insa Art Plaza Gallery, Doing Art, and Print Bakery, and has participated in over 40 group exhibitions at institutions such as Dongdaemun Design Plaza, Sejong Center for the Performing Arts Art Museum, and Art Mora Gallery in New York, maintaining an active and prolific presence in the art world. Her work is held in major collections including the Art Bank of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Hoban Cultural Foundation, GS EPS (GS Tower, Gangnam, Seoul), Samsung Seoul Hospital, and SBS Cultural Business Division.
