진환민은 전통 도자기 기법을 기반으로 현대적인 감각과 독창적인 재료를 결합해 자신만의 예술 세계를 구축해 왔다. 그의 대표작 '청화백자 거품포도문' 시리즈는 청색 안료로 만든 비눗방울을 도자기 표면에 불어내는 독특한 방식으로 한국 전통 문양인 포도문을 새롭게 재해석 했다. 작가가 만든 비눗방울이 터지며 도자기 표면에 남긴 불규칙한 흔적들은 하나하나 모여 포도 문양을 이루고, 이를 통해 비눗방울이라는 재료가 지닌 우연성이 만들어내는 예측 불가능한 결과의 긴장감을 느낄 수 있다.

특히 그의 작품에서 핵심이 되는 비눗방울이라는 매체는 단순한 표현 도구를 넘어, '생성'과 '사라짐'이라는 주제를 나타낸다. 일반적으로 비눗방울은 터질 때 흔적 없이 사라지지만, 진환민 작가의 비눗방울은 터진 후에도 무늬를 남기며 새로운 이야기를 시작한다. 이는 단순한 사라짐을 넘어, "존재하지 않더라도 영향을 미칠 수 있는 것들"을 의미한다. 이러한 흔적은 존재가 고정된 실체가 아니라 끊임없이 변화하고 새로운 형상으로 전환되는 유동성을 드러내고 있다. 이처럼 그의 작업은 생성과 동시에 소멸하는 비눗방울을 통해 존재의 본질과 사라짐의 의미를 탐구하고 있다.

진환민(b.1999)은 단국대학교에서 도예학을 전공하고, 현재 홍익대학교 일반대학원 도예유리과에서 석사과정을 밟고 있다. 그는 홍익대학교 현대미술관, 영암도기박물관, 양구백자박물관, 가나아트센터, 인사아트, 신세계 갤러리, 백룸갤러리 등에서 전시를 개최했으며, 제1회 홍주미술대전, 제42회 한국창작미술대전, 제26회 관악현대미술대전, 제5회 고흥분청미술대전 등에서 수상하고 2022년에는 대한민국 용인시 선정작가로 지정되었다. 또한 K포럼 K-Heritage 오프닝 드로잉쇼, KINTEX 글로벌 월드엑스포 드로잉쇼, COEX 경기 도자 페어 강연 등에 참여하며 활발한 활동을 이어가고 있으며, 업비트 NFT에서 작품이 완판 되는 등 현재 대중의 뜨거운 호응을 받고 있다.


Jin Hwan-min has built his own artistic world by combining contemporary aesthetics and experimental materials based on traditional ceramic techniques. His signature series, "Cheong-hwa White Porcelain Bubble Grape Pattern," reinterprets the traditional Korean grape motif through a distinctive method of blowing bubbles made with blue pigment onto the ceramic surface. The irregular traces left by the artist's bubbles as they burst gather one by one to form grape patterns, allowing viewers to experience the tension created by the unpredictable results generated through the inherent contingency of bubbles as a medium.

In particular, bubbles—the core medium of his work—transcend being a mere tool of expression to embody the themes of "creation" and "disappearance." While bubbles typically vanish without a trace when they burst, Jin's bubbles leave patterns behind even after bursting, initiating new narratives. This signifies more than simple disappearance, representing "things that can exert influence even when they no longer exist." These traces reveal a fluidity in which existence is not a fixed entity but continuously transforms and converts into new forms. Through bubbles that generate and vanish simultaneously, his work explores the essence of existence and the meaning of disappearance.

Jin Hwan-min(b. 1999) majored in ceramics at Dankook University and is currently pursuing a master's degree in the Department of Ceramics and Glass at Hongik University Graduate School. He has held exhibitions at venues including Hongik University Museum of Contemporary Art, Yeongam Ceramics Museum, Yanggu White Porcelain Museum, Gana Art Center, Insaart, Shinsegae Gallery, and Baikroom Gallery. He has received awards at the 1st Hongju Art Competition, the 42nd Korean Creative Art Competition, the 26th Gwanak Contemporary Art Competition, and the 5th Goheung Buncheong Art Competition, and was designated as a selected artist by Yongin City in 2022. Additionally, he continues his active engagement through participation in events such as the K-Forum K-Heritage Opening Drawing Show, KINTEX Global World Expo Drawing Show, and COEX Gyeonggi Ceramic Fair lectures, and is currently gaining widespread recognition, with his works selling out on Upbit NFT.
