최근작 ‘Turning Chaos’ 시리즈에서는 서울, 뉴욕, 마요르카 등 세계 도시의 빛과 건축물을 배경으로 작은 인물들이 국경을 넘나들며 새로운 지평을 찾아 나아가는 모습을 포착한다. 이는 현대 도시의 성장과 쇠퇴, 끊임없는 인구 이동이 만들어내는 변화에도 초점을 맞춘다.

Francesca Martí is an artist from Mallorca, Spain, whose practice spans across mixed media, sculpture, photography, and installation. Her work explores themes such as human mobility, migration, identity, and the relationship between humans and nature. She delicately and symbolically captures images of collective human movement and the position of individuals within the natural world.

In her 2019 work Mannequin, Martí presents human figures marching atop fashion mannequins, posing questions about what it means to live as a human today. Through this, she addresses themes of communication, social responsibility, and the blurred boundaries between the “traveler” and the “refugee”.
One of her most representative series, Believers, features miniature human sculptures that symbolize various social groups. By placing these small figures in natural or urban landscapes, she visualizes how people depend on one another and form bonds in unfamiliar environments, while simultaneously preserving their individual journeys and inner convictions.

Her recent series, Turning Chaos, captures miniature figures crossing borders in search of new horizons, set against the backdrop of urban light and architecture from cities such as Seoul, New York, and Mallorca. Martí’s work has been exhibited in major museums and galleries in cities such as New York, Beijing, Istanbul, Bratislava, and Shanghai, earning sustained attention from the international art world. Through her art, she visually investigates how individuals discover themselves within the collective, connect with nature and others, and seek balance and meaning in an ever-changing world.
